Ijhyeojins (pronounced ee-jyuh-jeens) were joseung sajas who turned into sahkils after rejecting their responsibilities as shepherds of souls and sought to recover their memories. Their name reflects their fear of being forgotten.1

Appearance

Ijhyeojins resemble joseung sajas with smooth faces that lack definition or features. Their continued existence stretches and twists their bodies over time.1

Culture

Ijhyeojins derisively consider joseung sajas to be manipulated servants of Pharasma who deserve the "liberation" of being twisted into new ijhyeojins.1 Joseung sajas likewise consider ijhyeojins to be souls overstaying their existence that must be hunted down for judgment, and should they reap all of a ijhyeojin's memories, the joseung saja can revert the sahkil to its psychopomp form.2
