Lightning elementals are elementals made of dark storm clouds of various shapes native to the Plane of Air.1 The air around a lightning elemental hums and throbs with the sound of electrocution and the smell of ozone. In battle, they are aggressive to the point of suicidal, and especially enjoy attacking creatures made of metal or those that use metal equipment.2[citation needed]
A lightning elemental's strike in a sandy area can create a double-helix fulgurite of green olivine, which can conduct the power of storm at sea.3
Known lightning elementals
A lightning elemental protected the Sacred Vault at the heart of the Hao Jin Tapestry.1
