Admin nomination: Oznogon

I would like to propose that we promote User:Oznogon to the position of PathfinderWiki administrator. This idea has already been floated elsewhere on the Wiki, but not officially started, and the sooner we begin the two week process the better.

Oznogon has, in a short space of time, transformed the wiki for the better in so many ways, devoting hours to bringing order to chaos and making improvements to so many areas. He clearly has a lot of wiki knowledge to share. Personally, I also appreciate the social side - letting us know what he is doing, seeking advice and writing high quality help pages to allow others to make best use of the improvements made. His sense of humour is not bad either.

Oznogon is now hitting the brick wall of not being able to achieve his goals due to the lack of administrator privileges, so this seem an apposite time to remedy that situation.

Technically this would bring the number of administrators to an even number but, for various reasons, that's a problem we can live with I'd say.

Two weeks from today is Thursday 18th December. --Fleanetha (talk) 08:58, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

I'll second the nomination. We need more like Oznogon around here. Also, we have two inactive admins (Heaven's Agent and Morbus Iff). We should decide what (if anything) to do about them. --Brandingopportunity (talk) 17:05, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
I agree. He has been an incredible asset and understands the tech side way better than most of us. --FoiledAgain (talk) 00:22, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Discussion of handling inactive admins should really be its own talk page discussion rather then getting put under this heading. —Paizo Publishing, LLC.png Yoda8myhead (talk) 00:24, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the awesome endorsements! I'm happy to be able to help out any way I can. If I'm approved, I promise not to abuse my power to change everything to use US spelling conventions. --Oznogon (talk) 18:09, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Since I'm the one who mentioned it elsewhere, I support the nomination. As I understand it, Aeakett has already bestowed upon Oznogon access to the site's server, so I also suggest that he be made a Bureaucrat so that there is nothing on the wiki he can't do. —Paizo Publishing, LLC.png Yoda8myhead (talk) 00:24, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
Done and done! Welcome to the lofty heights of administratorhood! Congratulations! You may now ceremonially add the {{User admin}} badge to your home page. --Brandingopportunity (talk) 16:15, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
This is such an awesome honor, thanks. This is naturally a pretty slammed few weeks for me, but barring RPG Superstar success I'll return to my usual torrid pace of work in January. I'll try to fix some minor issues in the meantime. --Oznogon (talk) 05:15, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Welcome Oznogon to the administration team - congratulations. --Fleanetha (talk) 12:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Even numbers

Does it really matter if we have an even number of active admins? Have we ever, in seven years of the wiki being around, needed a tie-breaker to agree upon something? If no one has any objections, I suggest we eliminate that needless complexity from the admin policy. If we can't agree that it should go, I'll abstain from the vote so that the other 5 of you constitute an odd number. ;-) —Paizo Publishing, LLC.png Yoda8myhead (talk) 20:39, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

I have no problem with this change. --Fleanetha (talk) 12:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
and even though I'm not an administrator, I try to put my two coppers in anyway.... -- Cpt kirstov (talk) 17:16, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
No problems here. --Oznogon (talk) 22:01, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
Problem solved! If ever all the Administrators fall out and can't decide what to do next, then we call in Cpt kirstov to sort us out, then say 'Aye, aye Cap'n' to the resolution. Well, that gets my vote: policy change! Unless we get a split vote but then... --Fleanetha (talk) 22:13, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
