The Recondite Order of the Indomitable Sea is the only church in the town of Illmarsh in Versex, Ustalav and, openly, the Order is sacred to the worship of Gozreh; however, in reality, the Order secretly worships Dagon, the demon lord of deformity, sea monsters and the sea. The Recondite Order upholds the Fostering Pact with the local skum tribe, originally agreed by Cassius Undiomede. The church's congregation meets at the Hall of the Recondite Order of the Indomitable Sea in the south of the town.[1]
The Order is the true power in the town of Illmarsh and is currently led by Vizier of the Indomitable Sea Albor Voltiaro;[2] he is aided by three vicars: his two sons, Caleb and Everard; and Garrick Prosker. The Order has a divine protector called the Scion of the Sea.[3]
