Thanom
Thanom is a Tian-Tang human alchemist from Tang Mai, and as of 4725 AR he holds the position of senior alchemist at the Indraracha Institute.1
Appearance
Thanom sports a prominent tree-shaped tattoo on his back in the yang na style. The pattern is specifically known as a three-pillared yang na.1
Background
Thanom comes from a family of temple keepers who were known in their local area as skilled herbalists. As a child, his aunt taught him the basics of yang na tattooing, and how to care for the eponymous tree that the tattoo style is named for. Thanom's personal proficiency with alchemical medicine was noted by an aristocratic physician, who helped to sponsor his entrance to the Indraracha Institute.
At the Institute, Thanom's research focused on alchemical tattooing. More traditionalist members of the Institute viewed his academic success as a threat and alienated him due to his talents not being magical in nature. Despite this tension, Thanom endeavored to contribute to the future of Tang Mai.
In 4725 AR, Thanom was chosen as the Institute's representative at the Six Schools' Convocation called by the Academy of the Reclamation in Nerosyan, Mendev.1
