In 4725 AR, the Academy of the Reclamation in Nerosyan, Mendev, called the Six Schools' Convocation, which invited academic institutions from all over Golarion to their campus.

They co-sponsored this event with Kitharodian Academy of Oppara, Taldor; the Magaambya of Nantambu, the Mwangi Expanse; the Monastery of Unbreaking Waves of Wavebreak Haven, Jalmeray; the Traveling Academy of Cobyslarni of the First World; and the University of Lepidstadt of Lepidstadt, Ustalav.1

Background

The Academy of the Reclamation hoped the Convocation would facilitate the exchange of magical and cultural knowledge, and foster friendship in the academic community. They also hoped to leverage the skills of the other academies to help recover lore from Sarkoris, now that the Worldwound had been closed and regions outside of the Sarkoris Scar were being reclaimed and resettled.2

Location and venues

Attendees socialize at the Six Schools' Convocation.

The Convocation took place on the campus of the Academy of the Reclamation, which is located in a quarter of Nerosyan that was once used to house and train crusaders of the Mendevian Crusades. Nearby abandoned buildings were commandeered for sleeping, eating, learning, and practicing.

While each of the six sponsoring schools had their own kitchens, dining halls were commissioned to both encourage networking and accommodate the smaller delegations. These dining halls employed Nerosyan locals and were available for both Convocation attendees and local citizens. The Academy also established libraries for the use of all. Due to the unique nature of the Traveling Academy being located on Cobyslarni himself, he was given a designated space to reside in.3

At the center of the Convocation was an Exhibition Hall, a light and airy building with draping fabrics and dramatic tentpoles paying homage to Sarkoris' nomadic past. Each of the six sponsoring schools had a section of the Exhibition Hall dedicated to their own use, and it was open daily from sunrise to sunset.4

Multiple performance spaces were established in various styles to accommodate the sponsors' cultural practices. The Convocation included raised stages before seats for use by the Taldans and Ustalavs, theatre in the round displays for the Sarkorians and Magaambyans, and flat immersive staging for the Monastery and Traveling Academy. These spaces were constantly used throughout the Convocation by both sponsoring and visiting schools.5

The event grounds were decorated with art and antiquities, with one of the more notable pieces being a statue pulled from the Lake of Mists and Veils with certain bits of stone broken to display internal, immobile stone clockwork mechanisms within.5 The visting oathwright Ehmik Naaruj of Thuvia's Hall of Lambent Oaths claimed the statue was a Thuvian construct that a dragon had absconded with in ages past.6

Competitions

While the various exhibitions of the Convocation were not given formal awards or prizes in order to prevent competitions from becoming unfriendly, the Academy of the Reclamation offered awards for recovering Sarkorian relics or slaying demons and creatures otherwise corrupted by the Outer Rifts.5 The Convocation allowed duels, as long as participants made an effort to mitigate permanent injury and a Convocation staff member could be on hand to supervise. However, knivesies was strictly prohibited, and any caught playing would be ejected from the Convocation.7 The Vudran board game drouge was also popular among various delegations, and the academy libraries hosted drouge tournaments. Students also took it upon themselves to arrange various minor competitions, including basilisk, jousting, and towers.8

In order to receive credit for excavating Sarkorian relics, student groups required supervision from Sarkorian scholars. Each expedition was also required to contain students from multiple schools; while the original plan was one student per school, this was diluted by the other sponsors.8

Demon-hunting, meanwhile, proved popular amongst various visiting delegations. Co-sponsored by the city of Nerosyan, demon-hunting parties could include up to six students, and they could turn in proof of their victories at the Academy of the Reclamation's porter's gate.9

Attendees

Alongside the six main sponsoring schools, representatives of the following academic institutions also attended the Convocation.
