Usena

From PathfinderWiki

Usenas are azarketis who have adapted to life in the frigid northern oceans of Golarion.1

Appearance

Usenas are shorter and stockier than typical azarketis, and also lack the head fins typical of other azarketi heritages, instead having a crop of dense short hair. Usenas have a thin layer of blubber to help protect against the frigid cold and clothe themselves in form-fitting bodysuits made of seal hide or sharkskin.1

Culture

Usenas live in the frigid waters of the Steaming Sea that border the northernmost reaches of Avistan. Usenas normally live in small underwater homes carved from ice formations that dot the Steaming Sea. During the coldest months, Usenas dwell under the frozen sea ice to hunt bears, walruses, seals and sea birds, while during the warmer months they work together with other Usena families to herd and hunt vast schools of fish as well as more dangerous prey like whales and sharks.

Every night, Usenas surface to stargaze and share tales and songs. They most often worship either Desna or empyreal lords such as Pulura or Black Butterfly.1
