Deaths in 4697 AR

• The mass-murderer known as the Key-Lock Killer kills nine people in the Varisian city of Korvosa. The killer does not strike again and is never apprehended.
• The parents of two-year-old Nai Yan Fei are assassinated by Gokan rivals. Her grandfather, Gokan Emperor Nai Hu Buo, becomes her guardian and begins raising her.
