As of 4720 AR, Lord Avid of House Arnsen was the Teriarch, or ruler, of the town of Diobel. Although he was appointed to the position by the Grand Council of Absalom, he achieved this position through the political machinations of his former childhood friend, Lord Gyr of Gixx, the Primarch of Absalom.12

Lord Gyr thought this sufficient repayment for Avid's many years of faithful support; Lord Avid disagreed. The two became bitter rivals, which by extension has turned the port city of Diobel into a fervent breeding ground for the Primarch's enemies.345 Since Lord Gyr's disappearance, Arnsen has been plotting to have himself appointed as primarch in his absence.62

Relatives

Avid is married to Lady Nahla, sister of Lord Kerkis of House Damaq, and is the father of children who have largely disappointed him.5
