Deadly mantis
Deadly mantises hunt in the deepest jungles of Mediogalti Island and the Mwangi Expanse, where they can grow to over 40 feet in height and 60 feet in length.1
The Red Mantis and other followers of Achaekek consider them sacred animals and offer them sacrifices of animals and captive humanoids,12 while some clerics of Achaekek also defend a deadly mantis' territories.2 The first cultists on Mediogalti Island discovered two deadly mantis eggs, which they believed to be the progeny of the Ghost Mantis, and built the Temple of the Ghost Mantis around the site.3
Mantis plate
The arms and carapace of a deadly mantis can be crafted into a suit of mantis plate, which possesses great flexibility despite being plate armor. The set of armor includes dangerously sharp vambrace spikes on the wearer's arms fashioned from the mantis' mandibles that further injure anyone attacked by the wearer.4
