Occularium
The Occularium is a college of wizards in the city of Manaket in Rahadoum.1 It is renowned for its experimental and innovative magical practices, making it a common institution for flexible spellcasting wizards known as arcanists.23 Some wizards of the Occularium practice a curriculum of civic wizardry, teaching that magic should help the common citizen, and learning spells that can be put toward public services such as construction.4
Structure
The Occularium is built atop deep clockwork catacombs that date to ancient Azlant.5
Research holdings
The Occularium maintains a collection of artifacts from the Jistka Imperium.6
Associates
Occularium researchers have drawn up a plan to reverse the encroachment of the desert upon the city by creating a series of trenches and dykes to reclaim land.1 These efforts have been aided by the phoenix Embriax, who lairs near the Path of Salt and frequently visited the college until 4711 AR.7
Captain Rupert Raim of the Pure Legion can issue letters of endorsement valid for redemption at the Occularium. In return, the college grants the bearer a casting of the spell godslayer upon a weapon of their choosing.8
The ancient brass dragon Karthival was once a patron of the college, though his visits became less frequent over time and eventually ceased.9
