The Sisterhood of Eiseth, whose members are known as Sisters of Eiseth, is a small and secretive monastic sect of people who aspire to become erinyes. Dating to the age prior to Aroden's death, the Sisterhood was once a wide-reaching network of furious assassins but has since languished in obscurity.1

Background

The Sisterhood was created as a monastery of female monks who trained in worship of Eiseth, the first erinys, and sought to emulate her by living lives devoted to anger and death in order to become erinyes upon death. This led to them often being hired as assassins, in part due to their practice of cremating their victims and securing their ashen remains in order to prevent resurrection or an honorable burial.1

Prior to the rise of diabolism and the modern rule of House Thrune over Cheliax, convents of the Sisterhood operated in secret and used mortuaries and mausoleums as fronts for their murderous services. However, despite the relative openness of devil worship in modern Cheliax, the Sisterhood has since been reduced to small groups of inexperienced Sisters maintaining smaller operations.1 Only the Sisters of the Golden Erinyes, a now spiritually distinct branch in Isger that was founded under the Sisterhood of Eiseth but became an arm of the Church of Asmodeus after the Goblinblood Wars,23 has retained any significant profile in recent years, albeit with an altruistic facade.145

Appearance

Sisters of Eiseth wear blood-red robes of silk and heavy habits that conceal bladed scarves. Monasteries often restrict their public appearances to once a month, and only to arrange for necessary supplies.6
