Talk:Endless Cairn/Conflicts
Relative position
Published maps conflict on the relative positions of the City of Thorns, Endless Cairn, and Wandering Spheres.
The map of Kyonin in A Memory of Darkness depicts the Wandering Spheres as due south of the fork in the Endowhar River and the unlabeled Kyonin River, southwest of Iadara, due east of the Century Root, and northeast of the Endless Cairn.
The Inner Sea Poster Map Folio depicts the Wandering Spheres as due south of Iadara and the Endless Cairn southwest. It depicts a short tributary of the Endowhar River that begins and ends just south of Iadara, and not one that flows north from the Five Kings Range through the Fierani Forest.
The abstract map of Kyonin on Queen of Thorns 9 depicts the City of Thorns as due south of the fork in the Kyonin and Endowhar Rivers, southwest of and adjacent to the Wandering Spheres, and north of the Endless Cairn. It depicts the short tributary, and not one that flows from the Five Kings Range.
The Encarthan Region map on The Secret of Deathstalk Tower 22 depicts the City of Thorns at a position west of its depiction in Queen of Thorns, but does not depict the positions of the other locations. It uses the same map geometry as World Guide, which depicts two long tributaries of the Kyonin and Endowhar Rivers that flow north from the Five Kings Range and do not appear in prior maps; the eastern tributary coincidentally flows near the position of the Wandering Spheres that appears in Inner Sea Poster Map Folio.
PathfinderWiki uses the location of the City of Thorns in The Secret of Deathstalk Tower as the most recent source of the highest canon tier, but the relative locations of it to the Endless Cairn and Wandering Spheres cannot be reconciled barring another canon source or official clarification. -Oznogon (talk) 17:11, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
