Tegresin's Devouring Well is a sentient well of many worlds that opens only with an offering of blood. At its own whim it transports its user into a prison demiplane owned by its namesake creator, Tegresin the Laughing Fiend.1

History

The Well was discovered by an apprentice of Nex in the archmage's eponymous nation in the 7th century AR, a century after Nex's disappearance. The apprentice found the Well alongside two more typical wells of many worlds, and it was accompanied by a note describing its acquisition ("purchased far too cheaply") at the Suq al-Azzmir from a jann merchant prince. The note suggested the Well was possessed and "not what it appears to be", and to "not trust the fiend".1

In 4640 AR the blue dragon Bezelasus the Looming Thunder seized the Well, used it, and became imprisoned. In an agreement made between the dragon and Tegresin that grants the dragon his freedom, Bezelasus began leasing it to others through intermediaries, none of whom know the Well's true nature.1
