This template is deprecated in favour of using {{Deity}}, which is updated to incorporate both Pathfinder First Edition and Pathfinder Second Edition elements.

{{Deity tabbed}} is for use in any article about a deity or divinity in the Pathfinder campaign setting. Some parameters are optional and can be left blank or omitted entirely; if undefined, these optional parameters will not appear as part of the template.

This template is based upon the Forgotten Realms Wiki Creature Template, and is extended from {{Deity}} to use the Tabber extension.

For deities that exist in only one edition of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, use {{Deity}}, which does not include the edition-specific tabs.

Usage

Use this infobox template on articles about deities, divinities, and other divine entities that can grant spells.

Common parameters

These parameters' values do not change regardless of the selected edition.

image (optional)
An image of deity's religious symbol. The recommended size is 250px, but if larger the image should scale to fit the template.

1E- and 2E- parameters

These parameters can appear in either or both editions, with potentially different values. If a value is passed for one edition but not the other, it automatically appears in both — please mind this behavior if there are reasons to explicitly omit any of these values for either edition. For this pass-through to work, the 1E-prefixed parameter needs hiding (surround with comments thus: <!-- hidden text -->) and a comment made that a pass-through is appropriate. This will help other users to understand the information has deliberately been set to pass-through as it is applicable to both 1E and 2E.

  • Parameters prefixed with 1E (ie. 1E-alignment) appear in the 1E tab.
  • Parameters with no prefix (ie. alignment) appear in the 2E tab.
alignment and 1E-alignment (optional)
The deity's alignment, as a link (ie. [[Lawful Good]]).
adjective and 1E-adjective (optional)
The word used to describe entities of or pertaining or related to the deity.
worshipers and 1E-worshipers (optional)
Typical worshippers of the deity.
weapon and 1E-weapon (optional)
The deity's favored weapon.
symbol and 1E-weapon (optional)
The deity's religious symbol.
imagesof and 1E-imagesof (optional)
The name of the category that contains images of this deity or its related symbols and worshipers, which appears in the infobox as a link to the category page. For instance, an imagesof value of Aroden creates a link to Category:Images of Aroden with the link text "Images of Aroden". This parameter is case-sensitive. If omitted or left blank, the infobox uses the article name and appears only if the category exists.
source, page, 1E-source, 1E-page (optional)
The source wherein the deity was first published or from which the most information is available. Link the title, and include page number if possible.

2E-only parameters

When used, these parameters appear only in the 2E tab.

edicts (optional)
The deity's edicts, or what they require or expect of their followers.
anathema (optional)
The deity's anathemas, or what they oppose, rebuke, or prohibit.
followalign (optional)
Use {{Alignment grid}} to indicate acceptable alignments of the deity's followers.

1E-only parameters

These 1E-prefixed parameters do not have 2E equivalents.

portfolio (optional)
Areas of concern, portfolios, or spheres of influence, possessed by the deity. 'Portfolio' is a 3.5 term; Paizo prefers 'Areas of Concern'.
cleric alignments (optional)
Use {{Alignment grid}} to indicate acceptable alignments of clerics associated with the deity.
subdomains (optional)
Subdomains associated with the deity (if any).
sacred animal (optional)
Animal treated with special reverence by a deity's faithful.
sacred colors (optional)
Colors associated with a deity (often found in church decorations and clergy attire).
