Temple Quarter
The Temple Quarter or Temple District is the religious district of the ifrit capital city of Medina Mudii'a. Despite being largely impious creatures, ifrits nonetheless construct religious buildings honoring deities and many other powerful beings of flame,1 images of the Grand Sultana Ayasellah Mihelar Khalidlah II2 as well as her predecessor, the grand sultan. As an effort to ingratiate themselves with divine beings1 and intimidate rivals,2 this section of the city seems to constantly expand with new great temples as well as ancient treasures to fill them.1
Like most aspects of ifrit society, religion tends to be filled with cutthroat politicking and shameless social maneuvering.2 The quarter's temples include the palace of Ymeri, the Elemental Queen of the Inferno, one of the most powerful beings on the whole Plane of Fire. Despite the grandeur of her temple, Ymeri has visited the palace only a handful of times since its construction, doing so twice to wreak havoc on the ifrits.1
