This article covers the temple in the Common Quarter of Medina Mudii'a. For the eponymous cult, see Eye of the Red Worm.

The Eye of the Red Worm is a temple in the Common Quarter of Medina Mudii'a1 that extends deep into the city. A magma chamber at its bottom contained a shrine to the lair of the Red Worm, Janzir-al-Nar, a fire-infused purple worm capable of teleporting those it consumes if a specific Pyric chant is being performed.23

The Red Worm's cult, named after the temple, was composed of liberated munsahirs, then known as azers, who attempted to use this teleportation to liberate their enslaved and indentured kin on the Plane of Fire.23

Appearance

The building is nondescript, at least for Medina Mudii'a: a spire of thick brass built from what appears to be a single unbroken chain, with gouts of fire emitted from vents along its sides. A single main door of iron is typically unguarded and opens to a small store used as a front by the munsahir cultists.3
