Aeries (Cloudspire)

From PathfinderWiki
A cloud dragon.

The Aeries are an area of the Mbe'ke Sky Citadel of Cloudspire devoted to housing the city's frequent, but often transient, population of cloud dragons. The Aeries are carved directly into the upper reaches of the hollow that forms Cloudspire and composed of artificial caverns massive enough to serve as the lair of a fully grown cloud dragon.

Cloud dragons are somewhat flighty creatures, and most eventually end up finding the hustle and bustle of Cloudspire too much. Cloudspire's population of dragons accordingly tends to skew younger, though most of the cloud dragons who live in the Terwa Uplands have called the Aeries and Cloudspire home at some point in their lives.1

The Aeries and their draconic residents are attended to by the Dragon Warden Fellowship, a group of Cloudspire residents who attend to the needs of their enormous dragon allies. The most famous resident of the Aeries is Cykurarreot the Mist, an ancient cloud dragon who has lived in Cloudspire since before the War of Split Hearts. Many of the Terwa Upland's cloud dragons are direct descendants of Cykurarreot, and in some ways she considers herself to be almost as responsible for the Mbe'ke dwarves as well.1 A cloud dragon's sense of responsibility is very different from other people's, and Cykurarreot is an ancient creature who is often cantankerous and unpredictable.2
