Benjen Ereska was a demanding prisoner who was held in Harrowstone, a prison near Ravengro in Ustalav. He must have been very tiresome, because he became the only inmate to be executed by being burnt alive inside the large prison furnace, called Old Ember Maw, despite the guards threatening this living cremation to many of the prisoners.

Ereska's death was before the destruction of Harrowstone prison in 4661 AR, but since that time, his spirit has violently haunted the old furnace room within the prison.
