Silk Purse

The Silk Purse houses a money-lending operation supporting the local farming community of Ravengro in the Canterwall county of the nation of Ustalav. The Silk Purse's importance to the community is to provide funding to farmers to protect them from the vagaries of the weather and the seasons: to provide cash when times are hard with the loan secured by a promise, by the farmer, of future seasons' crop, valuables, or the farm itself.

Two money lenders, Luramin Taigh and Quess Yearburn, work in the Silk Purse along with eight mercenary guards to protect the large amounts of cash: the building may contain thousands of gold pieces at any time plus valuable items, sometimes magic items, for general sale from farmers who have defaulted on their loans. The guards have their own lodgings in a barracks on the premises.
