Lizards represent a wide variety of reptilian animals. Most have a long tail, a wide mouth with teeth, and four legs.12 Lizards are cold-blooded, so they tend to bask on warm surfaces or in sunlight to stay warm enough.3

Lizards are also one of the favored animals of Sarenrae.4

Lizards are common in many parts of Golarion, including Katapesh, Osirion, Thuvia, Qadira, and the Ketz Desert.[citation needed]

Species of giant lizard inhabit all temperate or tropical climates,7 and they are kept by some peoples as mounts, guardians, or pets—most often and traditionally by lizardfolk, who highly value their companionship.13

Small lizards are sometimes taken as familiars.14
