Great Palace

From PathfinderWiki

The Great Palace—located in the eastern first tier of Urgir in the Hold of Belkzen, just inside the city's eastern gate—is the location of the vacant Throne of Urgir. The last overlord to sit upon the throne was Grask Uldeth,1 who was assassinated in 4716 AR; as of 4720 AR, his remains still sat upon the throne with a sword plunged through his chest. His effective successor Ardax the White-Hair, a former advisor to Uldeth, served as acting overlord after the assassination and refuses to fill the throne, instead claiming the title of steward and ruling from the Halls of the Closed Fist.2

The exterior of the building bears massive letters in the Dwarven language that spell "Urgir",3 an Orc word meaning "first home". These letters were carved in -3708 AR by the city's conquering orc forces, led by Belkzen, after defeating its dwarven defenders in the Battle of Nine Stones; before the orcs, the city was the Sky Citadel of Koldukar.4 The palace is surrounded by the historic Plaza of Sky.1
