Geography

Talmandor's Bounty is located on the southwestern shore of Ancorato, facing a harbor.4 The Arcadian Wake trade route, which connects Andoran to Arcadia, stops at Talmandor's Bounty, and a journey by ship to Talmandor's Bounty from Almas can take at least six weeks.5

Government

The colony is led by an appointed governor, who has been Ramona Avandth since 4717 AR and as of 4725 AR.6

History

Founding

The Andoren government launched a survey fleet into the Azlanti isles in 4714 AR and identified the island of Ancorato as the site for the nation's first colony in the region since the Sun Temple Colony was founded in 4246 AR.1

The Bountiful Venture Company—a shell company composed of the merchant houses of House Naran and House Vaylen and designed to keep them anonymous and protected from financial risk—jointly funded the launching of a colony on Ancorato, designated Talmandor's Bounty, with the Andoren government. The venture launched two shipping expeditions: the Liberty's Herald in 4716 AR followed by the Peregrine six months later in 4717 AR.1

The colony was plagued by the machinations of a renegade alghollthu in 4717 AR, who employed shapeshifting faceless stalkers to infiltrate the colony. Adventurers thwarted the plan, though the trauma of the events would remain deeply seated in the community for years.78 The colony recovered, however, to become self-sufficient and profitable.7

Recent history

At some point around 4725 AR, the Lumber Consortium discovered the identities of the Bountiful Venture Company's backers and pressured House Naran—which operates Forester's Endowments, the bank which manages the Consortium's accounts—to divest from Talmandor's Bounty, which the Consortium views as a potential competitor.

In response, House Naran attempted to accelerate their extraction of profit from the colony without the knowledge of House Vaylen, a plan opposed by the colony's Governor Ramona Avandth. Her opposition led to House Naran attempting to unseat her.7

People

The colony's first administrator was Rayland Arkley, part of the Liberty's Herald expedition. He was followed by Avandth, who arrived on the Peregrine.9

The town also hosts several athamarus from a nearby shoal, who began trading with the colonists shortly after Talmandor's Bounty was founded. Athamaru fisherfolk trade fish and work with the town's shipbuilders.10
