National anthem

From PathfinderWiki

A national anthem (also national hymn, song, etc.) is a generally patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation's government as the official national song, or by convention through use by the people.1

Nations of Golarion have national anthems, including those listed below.

Andoran

Andoran has a national anthem.2

Galt

Due to Galt's fractured nature, there are several informal anthems used by the various revolutionary factions. One of them is:

The March of Liberty
An informal anthem of the Galtan revolutionaries.3

Lastwall

While not an official national anthem, the song "Vigil of our Hearts"—spontaneously performed by Shelynite champion Fauros Halfden after the destruction of Vigil by Tar-Baphon in 4719 AR—quickly became the anthem of the Knights of Lastwall in exile and among the diaspora from their shattered nation.4

Linvarre

Linvarre, formerly a colony of Taldor named Amanandar, has a national anthem with lyrics in both Taldane and Tien. Both versions share a refrain that references the nation's strength through multiculturalism:

United together, our blood combines
We are Linvarre, may our glory shine

These lyrics were specifically requested by General Jiayi Vannisar, the nation's leader during its independence in 7220 IC and a person of mixed Taldan, Tian-Shu, and Tian-Hwan heritages.5

The anthem is performed by parading marching bands annually during its Grand Day of Independence celebrations.6

Ravounel

Song of Silver, a former mining song, was once the anthem of Kintargo before the rule of House Thrune over Cheliax. The anthem inspired fierce resistance to its forces during the Chelaxian Civil War until the resistance was defeated in 4640 AR, after which it was nearly erased from history by agents of House Thrune. The song was revived by the Silver Ravens during their struggle for independence from Cheliax in 4717 AR.78

Taldor

Taldor has a national anthem.9

Trunau

In 4719 AR the independent settlement of Trunau in Belkzen adopted the poem "Ballad of the Bloodmarch", written by author and militiaman Rodrik Grath, as its official anthem.10
