Howard Andrew Jones was the author of the Pathfinder Tales novel Plague of Shadows and Stalking the Beast, as well as the independent historical fantasy novels The Desert of Souls and The Bones of the Old Ones. He also edited eight collections of literary giant Harold Lamb's work and served as the Managing Editor for the iconic sword-and-sorcery magazine Black Gate.1 Howard announced in September 2024 that he had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, and it was announced that he passed away on January 15, 2025.2
