GameMastery Encounters
Each product in Paizo's GameMastery Encounters line, also known as Compleat Encounters, was a set of three 25mm-scale one-piece metal miniatures, four double-sided 5-by-8-inch map cards, and a scalable OGL role-playing game encounter. The line's goal was to provide everything needed to play a unique encounter in one package.
History
Founded in 2005, the Compleat Encounters line was the first Paizo product line to carry the GameMastery brand.1
This line predates Paizo's production of miniatures to support Monte Cook's Ptolus roleplaying game, and miniatures from this line along with the Ptolus line eventually formed much of the Pathfinder Chronicles Miniatures line.2
Due to the work required to produce products in the line and the rising costs of miniatures production, Paizo ended the line in April 2006 with three announced but unreleased products: Fane of the Black Adept, which would have been written by F. Wesley Schneider, and unassigned sets Stand & Deliver and War Golem Factory.1
Canon status
While these encounters feature prominent Pathfinder campaign setting figures, such as the Whispering Tyrant and Gorilla King, these portrayals are of older, prototypical versions and not considered canonical.34
