Crooked Cove, often referred to as Crookcove or Crook Cove, is a small village on the southwest coast of Ravounel.1

History

Crooked Cove was first constructed by Hellknights of the Order of the Gate in 4599 AR, as a base of operations for the construction of Citadel Enferac. It was founded as a mining and lumber town, and when the Hellknights left soon after founding the town, it continued to sustain itself from the revenue from these industries.1

After the Chelish Civil War, House Thrune appointed Ioseff Xarwin as Paracount of the region, with Crooked Cove as his seat. He constructed Xarwin Manor as his residence, as well as overseeing the creation of a church of Asmodeus and various other amenities to support the town's economy, but other than that the townsfolk saw little change to their day-to-day lives.1

In 4657 AR, Xarwin's wife and children fled the manor due to the degradation of familial relations, and he began to become increasingly deranged. The weather in the region worsened, and bizarre phenomena began to occur in town. The people were plagued with nightmares and turned violent, and gradually either died or fled the town out of fear of what was happening. It was at this time that either the weather or a fleeing resident vandalized the town's sign, breaking off the "e" and "d", so that it simply read "Crookcove".1
