Tuning fork
A tuning fork is a forked metal rod that emits a specific sonic frequency, or pitch, when struck.1
Usage
The most common and mundane use of a tuning fork is to emit a specific audible tone for the purposes of tuning a musical instrument.1

A tuning fork can also be attuned to a planar frequency which allows it to serve as a component in certain magical forms of planar travel.23456 Such tuning forks are also crafted from that plane's material.47
Locating or attuning a tuning fork for more obscure planes can be more difficult than doing so for more well-known planes.48 (Other methods of planar travel9 and access to certain demiplanes10 instead rely on planar keys, and powerful clerics can use their religious symbol to travel to their deity's divine realm.11)
In rare instances, a being can become attuned to a plane in such a manner that eliminates the need for a tuning fork.1213 For example, General Azaersi of Oprak can attune a being to a sliver of the Onyx Key to facilitate innate travel between the Universe and the Plane of Earth.12
Magic
Planar harmonizers are occultists who specialize in the selection and use of tuning forks as implements in spellcasting, particularly conjuration.14
Weapons
Magical resonating ammunition, such as resonating arrows, are each tipped with a tuning fork that emits harmfully resonant sonic waves when fired.15
The Sovereign Blade, a skymetal sword gifted from the Numerian Black Sovereign Kevoth-Kul to Chancellor Irahai of Mendev, resonates like a tuning fork when struck.16
