Compsognathus

The compsognathus is a tiny, carnivorous dinosaur that somewhat resembles a bird with a snake-like neck and head. It moves swiftly on powerful legs and is an accomplished swimmer.123
Appearance
A typical specimen is 3 feet long, including its tail, and weighs 15 pounds.123

Habitat and ecology
They hunt in packs of up to 20,1 and employ venomous bites that causes numbness weaken their victims, which they use to take down larger prey though they prefer to scavenge or grab smaller creature like insects.123
Compsognathus are naturally very curious, which often gets them into trouble.23 Most fight with compsognathus are more often caused by compsognathus exploring a wagon or bedroll which inadvertently invokes a frightened defensive reactions from them and surprised adventurers.2
Society
A compsognathus is small enough to be a house pet or familiar, but without a magical link like of the latter, they can be partly tame and it is advised to treat them like a pet venomous reptile like vipers.23
