Triceratops
More information about this subject might be available on StarfinderWiki. |
Triceratopses are massive muscular, three horned dinosaurs.12
Appearance
A triceratops has three horns in its head, and its thick neck is protected by a bony crest. A typical specimen is 30 feet long and weighs up to 20,000 pounds.12
Ecology
Triceratopses typically live in small herds of up to eight creatures. They eat plants3 but are particularly stubborn and irritable. When threatened, their natural instinct is to charge their opponent, thereby making best use of their sharp horns which are also used during dominance fights. Triceratopses often fight to the death for no obvious reason, unless it is clear it will be overpowered.12
Society
Humanoids often use triceratopses as mounts, such as lizardfolk, orcs, and giants, especially as the head bone-frill protects the rider.45
Ceratopids
Triceratopses are the most well known of the ceratopid family, which also includes the on-horned and smaller styracosauruses.4
