Sacristan

From PathfinderWiki
Sacristan
(Creature)

Sacristans are cobbled-together velstracs whose minds and bodies have been broken by other velstracs and refashioned to serve them. Each bears a tiny portal to the Netherworld in their mouth and can distend their jaws to emit shrieks and winds from that plane of shadow.1

Appearance

Sacristans vary in their appearance, but always look like tortured and maimed humanoids, often with redundant or absent features.1 They typically stand between six and eight feet tall and weigh from 80 to 160 pounds.2[citation needed]

Abilities

Sealed within each sacristan's mouth is a miniature, permanent portal to the Netherworld. Kept restrained, this portal endlessly howls a cacophony of darkness and soul-shaking howls from the pits of the realms of the velstracs. When threatened, sacristans open their mouths and allow this song to seduce their foes.1

Ecology

Sacristans are bound together by interlocutors from scraps of imperfect flesh, bent chains and metal, and scarred minds. They lack free will and their minds are etched with the ability to serve, making them utterly obedient to other velstracs. Sacristans take ecstatic pleasure from serving fellow velstracs.1
