The ruins of the House of Ruin, a temple of former genie Surma's cult located in northern Nex, contained carvings and tablets of meteorological practices dating to the Age of Darkness.2

Sailors and coastal communities employ weather forecasters of various stripes, such as the natural weather-reading abilities of many Ozalon azarketis,3 or use divination magic, which is effective only for predicting weather a few days in advance.4

Greudemoffit, an apprentice of the wizard Wystorn Telfyr at the Cathedral of Aroden in Almas, maintains a meteorological forecasting station atop one of the cathedral's two towers.5 The Pathfinder Society's Grinning Pixie has collected meteorological data from the Eye of Abendego during the ship's activity in the Inner Sea region.6

Amateur storm chasers in Taldor often collect data on tornadoes that strike the nation's eastern plains.7

Meteorological practices of Alkenstar are studied in distant lands, such as the scholars of Mukinami in Songbai.8 Off the coast of the Mana Wastes' Spellscar Desert, Professor Omor of Conference Z observes the supernatural weather from a floating laboratory.910

Among creatures

Swarms of hive mind beetles use their natural electrical communication to measure and predict weather events and other meteorological phenomena.11 Stone lion guardian beasts are well-versed in meteorological lore.12

On distant worlds

On Triaxus, meteorological magic users known as weathermages and weather-forecasting prophets work to determine the transitional timing of the planet's generations-long seasons.13

Tools

The meteorological station of Greudemoffit in Almas includes pressure-measuring barometers, temperature-measuring thermometers,5 a brass wind vane, a gauge measuring rainfall, a spyglass,14 and charts tracking data recorded by such devices.5

Storm gauges, primal magic-empowered devices which contain a blue-hued liquid that reacts to natural forces near a rainstorm, are common equipment aboard ships.4

Weather vanes

Weather vanes are structures that can indicate weather conditions, such as wind direction and speed. For example, the Fifth Wind of Magnimar's Dockway district is a stone weather vane with windsocks that allow everyone in Outcast's Cove to determine the wind's speed and direction.15
