Class
Homeland

Beldrin was a wizard who lived in early Absalom, and is the namesake of Beldrin's Tower and Beldrin's Bluff in the city's Precipice Quarter.1

Associates

The wizard and astrologer Ralzeros the Overwatched sustained a long rivalry with Beldrin, and purportedly disappeared after a magical duel with Beldrin. However, Ralzeros' death could not be confirmed after the duel.23456 Ralzeros' works History of the True Art7 and Precautions89 suggested that the feud arose after Beldrin allegedly stole a key to Ralzeros' treasure vaults.710 Rumors also suggested that Ralzeros' disappearance was related not to Baldrin but to distant beings who watched Ralzeros from afar.11

Ralzeros' stronghold in Absalom later became the site of the Blakros Museum.1146

Background

Beldrin crafted his three-spired ivory tower on the southern cliffside of the Isle of Kortos to become a school of magic, and the area of Absalom around his tower quickly prospered to become known as Beldrin's Bluff.112 His prowess in arcane magic was legendary, and his studies included the creation of animated statues.13

In culture

Beldrin's mysterious nature has long made him the subject of rumors, some of which persist into modern times. As of 4720 AR, for example, unfounded rumors in Absalom suggested Beldrin faked his death and would eventually return to Absalom and seek vengeance on those responsible for the Precipice Quarter's collapse.14 Other rumors suggested that the Precipice Quarter's perceived damage is merely a powerful illusion hiding a secret society controlled by Beldrin.15

The Beldrin's Brews pub in the Wise Quarter is named for Beldrin.16

Possessions

Beldrin possessed three items of particular note because of their association with his tower's spires. He stored a candelabra in the Tower of the Candelabra, a horn in the Tower of the Horn, and a shield in the Tower of the Broken Shield.17101819 The reasons for their creation had been lost to time as of 4720 AR.20

Beldrin also constructed the massive golem21 Gulgamodh to become part of the city's defenses,22 and built the crystal-domed Arcane Arboretum.2324
