Boundball

From PathfinderWiki

Boundball is a traditional team ball sport popular across much of Arcadia that has thousands of years of history.1

Rules and equipment

The ball is the size of a small squash and made of hard rubber, and a standard field is variously wide with a trimmed grass surface. Vertically aligned hoops are set on opposite ends of the field.

All players can use any body part except their hands to advance the ball, save for one player who wears oversized gloves and is allowed to handle the ball. One player of each team has a flat baton that they can use to deflect the ball into the goal hoop.1

Competitions

A continental tournament among 12 qualifying nations occurs annually, with seven host cities rotating in their hosting responsibilities. Thousands flock to the host city from across Arcadia, making the tournament a major cultural and economic event. Segada was expected to host the tournament in 4717 AR, and in preparation the city constructed a new park expressly to host the event and its associated celebrations.1 Gujaraldi, capital of Xopatl, is also among these host cities, and the centuries-old Xopatl Stadium can host thousands of spectators.2

Some teams also compete in local and regional leagues. For example, Xopatl, Razatlan, Innazpa, and Nalmeras participate in a regional boundball league,3 and as of 4719 AR plans for Jolizpan's local team (the Coatls) to play in a new local league had revitalized plans for the local Coatl Stadium.45
