Fossil golem
This article contains information of uncertain canon status due to changes made in Monster Core. Golems are no longer a family of constructs. Replaced by paleohemoth. Additional context might be available at Meta:Golem. |
Fossil golem
(Creature)
Fossil golems are golems assembled from the fossils of long-dead creatures, with no attempt to accurately model the original creature. Due to their magical energies, fossil golems spread fossilisation to foes as if it was an infectious disease. Fossil golems are often used to guard natural fortifications, and can pass on as strange displays of bones when at rest. A fossil golem is 20 feet tall and weighs 8,000 pounds.1[citation needed]
Variants
The Dominion of the Black builds fossil golems from the shells shed by ancient jah-tohl.2 The brains of these golems' victims do not petrify with the rest of their body, but remain in stasis to be harvested by the Dominion.3
