Tree of the Thousand Eyes
The Tree of the Thousand Eyes is a colossal tree located in the south of the Jolizpan Forest in Xopatl.1 The tree is named for the many patterns covering it that closely resemble the eyes of a peacock's tail.
Those who live nearby believe that the Tree of the Thousand Eyes grew from the heart of the chicome coatl2 that died when a fragment of the Aeon Star struck it.3 This legendary event occurred thousands of years ago during the formation of the Jolizpan Forest. According to local legend, the heart of the chicome coatl still exists at the centre of the Tree of the Thousand Eyes and, if someone could make this heart beat again, it would resurrect the powerful coatl.4
