Ousmariku
Ousmariku is a thalassic behemoth who annually terrorizes the city of Aelyosos for tribute. It also destroyed the Iblydan city of Liachora at the dawn of the Age of Lost Omens.1
History
Ousmariku was summoned by the unified cries of cyclopes in Pol-Liachora after the death of Aroden in 4606 AR. The cyclopes proclaimed that a primordial beast would punish their people for long-forgotten crimes until the guilty parties were brought to justice.
Months later, Ousmariku ate Liachora's navy. Iblydos rallied its ten greatest hero-gods to oppose the behemoth and protect Liachora, but the behemoth killed them all and destroyed the city.1 Only the spear of Psomeira, one of Liachora's guards, harmed Ousmariku enough to repel it, but not before it decimated Psomeira's forces and apparently killed her.2
Liachora's people fled to Aelyosos as refugees, and Ousmariku returned to Aelyosos annually to demand tribute. Psomeira, however, reappeared in Aelyosos a decade later as a hero-god, where she has since served as Aelyosos' co-ruler and defender, and has drilled the city's defenders for an eventual final battle against the behemoth. Until then, the city has continued to pay its annual tribute to Ousmariku.12
