The Roseguard were a group of adventurers that settled down and founded the town of Otari after defeating Belcorra Haruvex.1 The town was named after group member Otari Ilvashti who died in the battle. Some of the town's modern-day inhabitants are descendants of the Roseguard, including the Mayor of Otari Oseph Menhemes—descendant of group member Aesephna Menhemes.2

History

After investigating Gauntlight Keep in 4244 AR,3 the Roseguard confronted and defeated Belcorra Haruvex, losing their rogue Otari in the process. The three surviving members decided to honor their lost friend's dream of settling down in a small seaside village and used their savings to construct such a village, naming it Otari. The initial settlement was comprised of a sizable pier and several buildings, including the Menhemes Manor, located in a sheltered cove south of Gauntlight.1

In the following decades, the remaining Roseguard aged and passed away of natural causes. Otari, which had become a prosperous fishing village, was ultimately abandoned a few years after the last Roseguard, Aesephna Menhemes, died in 4290 AR.13 After briefly coming under the control of a group of kobolds called the Stonescales, Otari was eventually revitalized as a lumber town by Aesephna's granddaughter Maklanni Menhemes.1

Members

The Roseguard consisted of four members—cleric of Erastil Aesephna Menhemes, rogue Otari Ilvashti, fighter Vol Rajani, and wizard Zarmavdian.2
