The Menhemes family is one of the three lumber families of Otari. They own the Otari Lumber company and the town's lumber delivery and processing infrastructure. It is one of Otari's oldest and most influential families, with the Menhemes Street named in their honor.1

History

Menhemes family roots date back to the founding of Otari in 4244 AR by three RoseguardsAesephna Menhemes, Vol Rajani and Zarmavdian.2 Aesephna was the last Roseguard to pass away in 4290 AR, leading to the town's abandonment until her granddaughter, Maklanni Menhemes, returned to resettle Otari decades later. She turned Otari into a prosperous lumber town and began the Otari Lumber family business.3

Members

Aesephna Menhemes was one of Otari's founders, while her granddaughter Maklanni Menhemes resettled the town and constructed its lumber delivery and processing system. Their descendant, Oseph Menhemes, is the current town mayor and the head of Otari Lumber. He raises five children with his wife Emnala Menhemes.

Sites

The Menhemes family resides in the Menhemes Manor. It is one of the town's oldest buildings, constructed by Aesephna and the other Roseguards.2 They also own the Otari Mill and Otari Flume; fully constructed by Maklanni in 4323 AR.4

Relationships

Due to their ownership of the Otari Mill, the Menhemes family has inevitable ties with the other two lumber families and their respective companies, which pay to use the flume and sawmill. Specifically, Chertel Timber, owned by the Chertel family; and Whistledown Cutters, owned by the Inkleholtz family.2 These two companies broke off from the Diobel-based Kortos Consortium centuries ago, but in recent years, the company has tried to regain control of the Isle of Kortos lumber industry through sabotage and infiltration.3

They also share a history with the Rajani family. Carman Rajani, the last descendant of Roseguard Vol Rajani,5 seeks to usurp Oseph's position as mayor despite failing at the mayoral elections four times.6
