Whistledown Cutters is one of Otari's three lumber companies. It broke off from the Kortos Consortium alongside Chertel Timber and relocated to Otari after Maklanni Menhemes finished the construction of the Otari Mill and Otari Flume in 4323 AR, paying her to use her inventions.

Today, Whistledown Cutters is owned and managed by Alymora Inkleholtz, the owner of Inkleholtz Manor. The company still pays Otari Lumber—Maklanni's family business owned by her descendant Oseph Menhemes—to process their wood at the Otari Mill.

The company has an unsavory relationship with the Kortos Consortium, having left the Diobel-based organization in favor of Otari. In recent years, the Kortos Consortium has tried to disrupt their business through nefarious means, including hiring the Leadbuster Lads.
