Runescars #1, a Pathfinder Comics book written by F. Wesley Schneider with art by Ediano Silva, and covers by Jonathan Lau, Geraldo Borges, and Igor Lima, was released on May 24, 2017. The issue is subtitled "Rune Born" on page 2. The "Pathfinder Chronicles" appendix in this volume is written by Jason Keeley.

"Runescars #1" features the following characters:
All Pathfinder: Runescars issues include a pull-out poster map and official Pathfinder RPG content. In this comic, contemporary events in Korvosa are discussed in "Troubling Times in Korvosa" placing the comic's story as occurring at the same time as the start of the Curse of the Crimson Throne adventure path.
The pull-out poster map, "Outside the Sticky Mermaid", is designed to be used for an encounter of CR 6, called "Miracle Cure", that could be inserted as a side mission during Seven Days to the Grave.
