Zimibra
Zimibra, the Coiling Death, is an ancient centipede-like kaiju appearing in the Shanguang Desert. Seldom seen today, Zimibra is largely known through Mutabi-qi oral histories and is prominent in local creation myths.12
Ecology
The centipede queen is thought to hibernate in the Darklands beneath the Wall of Heaven in tunnels reinforced by the bones of old slain kaiju assailants, waking only when threatened.12
The neighboring kaiju Yorak and Bezravnus share some rivalry with Zimibra but rarely come to blows. Historically, on at least one occasion, the three have teamed up.31 Stories claim Yorak even vowed to protect Zimibra.2
Zimibra secretes a potent oily venom used in reinforcing her plated exoskeleton. When the substance crystallizes, it can be harvested and used in a cure-all elixir if prepared correctly, but is torturously fatal if botched.12
Background
Legendary history
Mutabi-qi creation myths hold that the Darklands beneath Tian Xia were, in part, carved by Zimibra. Working herself to exhaustion, she has since only been stirred to activity when her territory is endangered.12
One such instance involved three unknown kaiju wandering into Shanguang. Bezravnus, Yorak, and Zimibra united against this threat until another kaiju, Mogaru, interrupted the battle and slew the invading trio while the rest retreated.1 Zimibra's last rampage is remembered only in tales of the Great Kaiju War.2
Recent history
Years ago, a large deposit of the crystallized venom of Zimibra was unearthed. Its exposure to the elements poisoned the desert and toxified its dust storms, leading to increased mass poisoning events in Shanguang and neighboring nations.1
A recent expedition working for a Taldan lord sought a vial of Zimibra's famed venom, but failed to properly prepare the panacea. The desperate lord and his circle died in agony as a swarm of flesh-eating centipedes devoured each of them. This grisly incident has caused some foreigners to demand Zimibra's execution, but Yorak's apparent vow to protect the centipede queen complicates the already hopeless task of slaying a kaiju.2
