Atvan
Atvan is a small, peasant town on Glacier Lake in the Irrisen province of Bleakmarch. It is ruled by Baroness Baelara, whose husband, Gregouri Urvalane, is a notorious womanizer. The couple spend a great deal of time arguing, which is what got them banished to this remote settlement from Whitethrone.1
The young women of Atvan who attract Gregouri's amorous attentions became targets of the baroness' extravagant rage. To avoid the baroness's wrath, Vaclav Konstantin proprietor of the Sealskinner Inn, has closed down his brothel and employs only local grandmothers in the inn's common room.1
Atvan main business is to provide shelter, food, and entertainment for merchants sailing to and from Whitethrone. It is also well known that Atvan has coveted its neighbor Trezira's ice cleaving monopoly.1
