Waldsby is a typical peasant village located near the Hoarwood Forest in the Irriseni province of Hoarwood.1

History

In 4713 AR, portals created small pockets of perpetual winter in several parts of the Inner Sea region's midsummer, particularly one six miles southwest of Heldren, a town in Taldor that bears many similarities to Waldsby.23 Few in Heldren know of the town's resulting connection to Waldsby.4 The event would later become known as the Heldren Freeze.5

Government

Waldsby's last leader was Tjorvar Leikovich. In 4710 AR was accused of being member of the underground resistance group, called the Heralds of Summer's Return and Nazhena Vasilliovna ordered Tjovar's house to be burned down with his wife and child inside and himself to be hung from town hall's clock tower. Since then Waldsby has been without a local leader.6

Economy

The peasants of Waldsby make their living from the Hoarwood Forest. Winteryew and other trees are felled to sell as lumber, and the peasants hunt game within the forest.7
