• The Dreamtenders are thrown into disarray when their leader, Etrixia Star-Touched, is arrested and eviscerated by Adamant Company trackers.
• The organizers of the first Ruby Phoenix Tournament since the return of Hao Jin host the tournament's first-of-its-kind pre-qualifier on Bonmu, which was dubbed "Danger Island" for this event.

• Headstone Rolsk, a stone giant necromancer, collects the tombstones and corpses in the New Hayewood Cemetery and leaves with them.
• Mafika Ayuwari enters the Ruby Phoenix Tournament with five students from the Magaambya. He and his team, the Speakers to the Winds, qualified to the main stage of the tournament held in the port city of Goka.
• The scavenger Romi Bracken, of the Andoren colony of Talmandor's Bounty in the ruins of Azlant, is attacked and afflicted by a werebat while exploring and becomes one himself. He joins the island's werebat colony while continuing to live a secret double life in Talmandor's Bounty.
