Al-Varish is the second largest city in the Qadiran region, the Plains of Paresh, and even in all Qadira, behind only the capital of Katheer in terms of size. Located at the head of one of the two sources for the River Landon, the grassy plains around Al-Varish are still roamed by semi-nomadic tribes of herdsmen who have existed here for millennia. Al-Varish is a trade city but, like much of the rest of the Plains of Paresh, is loud in its clamouring for war with the neighbouring Kingdom of Taldor.12
