As of 4715 AR, Ulzhan was the hakan, or Horse King, of the thirteen Great Tribes of the Kara peoples who rule the Casmar nation of Karazh, by virtue of being the han of the most powerful Kaskyrbai tribe.12
Background
Ulzhan was born to the Kaskyrbai tribe of Karazh and had become hakan over the thirteen "great tribes" by the early 48th century AR. As of 4715 AR, she had a reputation as a strong and steady leader, and the tribes have prospered under her reign upon the Horse Throne.2
