Johar Mountains
The Johar Mountains stretch for over a thousand miles from the northernmost reaches of Vudra into its central heartlands. They divide the Crying Jungle and Western Ghats in the north, while further south they divide the Narhari Desert from the regions of the Golden Basin and Wide Water. The headwaters of the Baghshahi, Matra and Kalyan rivers all begin in the Johar Mountains.1
Places of interest
The mountain Adarparbat, a place believed to be holy to the goddess Sarenrae, is located in the southern range.2
The Johar Mountains were originally settled by ratfolk, and their tunnels still run under many parts of the Western Ghats.3
Settlements and temples of the Vudrani-Parbatkay ethnicity are located in the northern range's highest reaches.4
Podinhi, a village in the range, is home to a phenomenon known as dohtsaeka where all of its inhabitants were born as twins with a link established between each pair in their dreams. The phenomenon was the focus of research by the Pathfinder Imshaidi Jikhtari.5
