Wellspring magic is a form of magic that builds up within a creature until it spontaneously manifests, often beyond their control. A person who attempts to employ wellspring magic is called a wellspring mage.1

Wellspring surge

Such surges can unleash raw damaging energy, manifest random creatures, transform the magic user's physical form or overwhelm their mind or emotions, produce unpredictable weather or earthquakes, produce illusions of swarms of items or animals, generate a surge of antimagic, force others to hear the magic user's thoughts, facilitate rapid plant growth, terrify nearby beings, generate orchestral music, drain the magic user's life, or ward nearby creatures from harm.2

On Golarion

Wild magic is the uncontrolled collection of wellspring magic in places where the nature of magic has been damaged or warped by powerful spellcasting, such as the Mana Wastes of eastern Garund.3
