An arcane engine generally describes a device or process that produces or amplifies arcane magic energy, often by converting other forms of energy, similar to how a mechanical engine converts other forms of energy into mechanical energy. It does not describe a single type, design, or function, but rather a class of such devices.

- When the Lens of Galundari contains an outsider bound into its owner's service, it serves as an arcane engine granting access to the outsider's powers.
